Phase 1 will consist of the following tasks:
1) Topic Brainstorm (process grade)
2) Topic Planning (process grade)
3) Topic Approval Form (process grade)
4) Supervisor Assignment & Contract (process grade)
Shortly, you will receive an email from Google for Phase 1 Tasks 1-4 as all information will be electronically housed via your Google Drive.
All Phase 1 tasks must be completed no later than Thursday, December 1; the above forms will automatically close at 11:59 P.M. that day; please use the two weeks wisely and manage your time. Your classroom teachers, assigned supervisor, and I will play various roles in assisting you throughout this process.
Please note that your Personal Project supervisor will be assigned to you so that no one teacher is bombarded with too many students, as there are 58 of you.
It is important that you stay abreast of all components of this project; we are scaffolding as you go so as not to overwhelm you with information overload.
Check Hornet emails regularly beginning today. Eventually, you will gain access to your individual Personal Project Google folder where you will house the other components (process journals, research, bibliography, project plan, product, etc.) Details forthcoming as that particular phase opens.
All students will have exactly five months, from now until April 2016, to work on the Personal Project with intermittent deadlines throughout.
This in turns leads to higher quality work, built in assistance along the way, more processing time per component, student accountability for submitting tasks per the requested deadlines, etc.
All tasks within the personal project will count as process and product grades for the classes you are enrolled this semester; the same will apply for 2nd semester classes, as there are tasks to complete to wrap up the personal project during those quarters.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or stop by the IB Office Room 216.
All IB MYP information will be disseminated via this website, unless otherwise stated. Bookmark it and check it regularly.
